Approach

I completed graduate and post-graduate training in cognitive-behavioral, dialectic-behavioral, mindfulness-based, solution-focused, interpersonal, emotion-focused, narrative, and psychodynamic psychotherapy. I favor an integrative and systematic approach to assessment and treatment planning in my clinical work with adults, from those transitioning into adulthood to those transitioning into retirement and beyond.

Furthermore, I developed expertise in the area of clinical supervision and consultation, after designing and delivering graduate training on these topics in both official languages in multiple doctoral programs (Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology and Psy.D.). I favor a competency-based approach with a strong developmental focus that favors strategies inspired by positive psychology. I have delivered post-graduate training workshops to clinical supervisors in multiple provinces and in various contexts, including hospital departments, university-based training programs in Professional Psychology, as well as provincial and national initiatives organized by the Canadian Psychological Association and l’Ordre des psychologues du Québec, and through individual consultation with clinical supervisors.

My experience as a training director has also inspired a growing interest in developing interventions to bolster personal and professional resilience in graduate students and licensed psychologists. I have designed curriculum for Psy.D. programs in NL and in QC, and offered professional training workshops to various professional groups on these topics. I also offer individual consultation to mental health professionals on this topic.
